The Quiet Unicorn of Silverwood
At the edge of Silverwood Forest, where the trees grew tall and the light filtered through in soft, shifting patterns, there lived a unicorn no one ever saw.
Her name was Lira.
The villagers spoke of her in passing, usually in the same way they spoke of the wind—something that was there, but never quite within reach. Some said she only appeared at dawn. Others believed she could only be seen by those who weren’t looking for her at all.
Lira preferred it that way.
She moved quietly through the forest, her silver coat blending with the pale mist that lingered between the trees. Wherever she stepped, the ground seemed softer, the air calmer. Birds rested longer on their branches. Even the streams slowed, as if listening.
But Lira wasn’t hiding.
She was waiting.
Not for a person, exactly—but for a moment.
One evening, just as the sky turned from gold to deep blue, a traveler entered Silverwood. He wasn’t searching for unicorns. In fact, he wasn’t searching for anything anymore.
He had spent weeks on the road, moving from place to place, trying to find something that felt like an answer. But every town felt the same, and every path led to another question.
So he stopped trying.
When he reached the center of the forest, he sat beside a narrow stream and let the silence settle around him. No plans. No expectations. Just stillness.
That was when Lira appeared.
She stepped out from between the trees without a sound. The traveler didn’t notice her at first. He was watching the water move slowly over the stones, his thoughts finally quiet.
Lira observed him for a moment.
Most people came into the forest with noise—questions, wishes, demands. They looked everywhere except where they were. But this one… was different.
He wasn’t searching.
Gently, Lira moved closer. A branch shifted under her hoof, and the traveler looked up.
For a brief moment, neither of them moved.
He didn’t speak. He didn’t reach out. He simply looked at her, as if he wasn’t trying to understand what he was seeing.
And that was enough.
Lira stepped closer still, until she stood at the edge of the stream. The air between them felt steady, almost weightless.
The traveler exhaled slowly.
“I think I’ve been looking too hard,” he said quietly, more to himself than to her.
Lira lowered her head slightly, her reflection shimmering in the water.
Nothing needed to be answered.
After a while, the traveler stood up. He didn’t try to follow her, and he didn’t ask her to stay. He simply nodded once, as if acknowledging something he couldn’t quite put into words.
Then he turned and walked back the way he came.
By the time he reached the edge of the forest, the path didn’t feel the same.
It felt lighter.
Behind him, Silverwood returned to its quiet rhythm. Lira moved once more between the trees, unseen again, but not gone.
She would be there when the next moment arrived.

The Clockwork Unicorn Story
The city never slept.
Gears turned beneath its streets, towers ticked with mechanical precision, and even the wind seemed measured, regulated by unseen systems that kept everything in motion.
Nothing was left to chance.
Especially not magic.
Lio had heard the stories anyway.
The Last Light of Silver Lake Unicorn Story
The lake only appeared at dusk.
Travelers spoke of it in uncertain terms, some claimed it reflected the sky before it changed, others said it showed things that had not yet happened. Most dismissed it as a trick of fading light.
Elin did not.
She had followed the map precisely: three days along the ridge, past the broken birch, and into the valley where no birds sang. By the time she reached the clearing, the sun had already begun to fall.
The Guardian and the Wanderer
The forest had a way of keeping secrets.
Mist hung low between the trees, weaving through ancient trunks like a living thing. Nothing entered this place by accident, or so the wolf believed.
He had watched the forest longer than he could remember. Seasons shifted, rivers changed course, and creatures came and went, but he remained. Silent. Patient. A guardian, though no one had ever named him as such.
